This is a one of one art piece Dagger that I hand forged from W1 tool steel which is used most often in making drill bits and sililar tools and makes for a great knives as well. This particular blade was forged from 1.25” round stock and I forged in the bolster and guard area so that it all one piece. The blade has been differentially heat treated using clay and this gives it the unique lines that you see running down the middle of the blade. This is called a Hamon and was first used by the Japanese for their swords to make them more durable in battle. It is also a beautiful finish for the blade and make is different than any other knife out there. The handle is made from a beautiful piece of ironwood burl and has brass liners curve fit to give the scales a gold outline and it also has peened and polished brass pins that give it a mechanical attachment to the tang and a very classy feel. I made the sheath from 9oz Wickett and Craig Skirting leather and has been hand tooled with a quilted pattern on the front to complete that old classic feel. This is a statement piece that I put a lot of heart into and you won’t find another like it!
