This is a medium camp knife I forged from W2 tool steel. The blade has been differentially heat treated using clay and this gives it the unique lines that you see running down the middle of the blade. This is called a Hamon and was first used by the Japanese for their swords to make them more durable in battle. It is also a beautiful finish for the blade and make is different than any other knife out there. The handle is made from a beautiful piece of ironwood burl with peened and polished brass pins that give it a mechanical attachment to the tang and a very classy feel. I made the sheath from 9oz Wickett and Craig Skirting leather and has been hand tooled with a quilted pattern on the front to complete that old classic feel. This knife would be great for hunting or any sort of outdoorsman work. This will be a statement piece around the campfire.
Specs:
Cutting Edge: 5”
Overall: 9 3/4”
